As part of the Merchant team, you are responsible for the analysis, development and implementation of the market and service strategy for Belgian merchants. Your focus is on performance management, service management, optimising commercial and services processes, monitoring commercial merchant market evolutions and market developments. You report to the Market Manager and work closely with the Marketing, Customer Experience and Merchant Service managers.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Design of the market and service strategy with the marketing, customer experience, merchant service managers and executives.
  • Ensure effective governance and the reporting of the market and service improvement initiatives.
  • Work with the marketing team to improve the value position by understanding commercial market evolutions.
  • Define, align and coordinate the merchant commercial and service effectiveness programs. This consists of;
  • Improving, documenting and executing the commercial and servicing processes, workflows, working methods and communication procedures that increase service and affiliation performance and productivity, management visibility and reduce risk, waste of time and resources.
    • Liaising with the IT and Data teams to ensure that commercial and service activities are effectively supported by the implementation of technology (CRM, BI)
    • Ensure the adoption of CRM usage by merchant, marketing and customer experience employees.
    • Collaboration with the training department to strengthen the commercial and servicing capabilities of the team thanks to delivery of training and coaching programs.
    • Support the merchant, marketing and customer experience executives in setting the commercial targets. Liaise with finance in support of the annual and quarterly planning and controlling processes.


As ideal candidate you have the following profile:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional background in marketing- or sales performance within a B2B services context.
  • Strong ability to structure and summarize information driven by good PowerPoint skills, good knowledge of other MS Office tools and Salesforce.
  • Proven track record of driving performance by coordinating and delivering process improvements and enablement programs in a KPI focused organisation.
  • Practical experience in implementing sales and service processes in Salesforce. You are able to define functional requirements, explain business requirement to IT, document guidelines for users and ensure effective adoption of the CRM and related best practices.

  • Team player and relationship builder that listens and works well with colleagues/virtual team members from the same and other departments;
  • Flexible and enthusiast to be able to adapt to change, and to identify opportunities within such changing context.
